DYPHOX Universal

The Challenge

A multitude of germs are becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics and various disinfectants. They can persist for extended periods on inanimate surfaces and be inadvertently spread via them. Compliance is often non-existent, surfaces are overlooked during cleaning, or not cleaned properly or thoroughly enough to permanently remove the germs. Dangerous hygiene gaps arise.

The Solution

DYPHOX technology employs the principle of photodynamics. The patented DYPHOX photocatalyst is excited by light in the visible area of the electromagnetic spectrum. By transfering the absorbed energy to ambient oxygen, singlet oxygen is generated.

The singlet oxygen – while harmless for humans and animals – can kill the microbes, which adhere to the DYPHOX coated surfaces. In combination with conventional hygiene measures the danger of pathogen transmission by surfaces is significantly reduced.

DYPHOX Universal

DYPHOX Universal is our antimicrobial retrofit coating. It can be applied to plastics, glass, aluminum, stainless steel by wiping or spraying and is resistant to common cleaning and disinfecting agents.

The Product suite consists of

  • DYPHOX Cleaner A02: Ideal substrate preparation
  • DYPHOX Primer A09V: For certain surfaces
  • DYPHOX Universal 510-R: Antimicrobial coating solution

DYPHOX Universal is yearly applied by a trained application specialist.
New: DYPHOX Universal is now also available as DIY Kit for smaller objects. Please inquire!

DYPHOX Universal has been extensively tested und has aquired numerous certifications:

  • kills more than 99.99% of bacteria (tested after a modified version of ISO 22196)
  • kills more than 99.98% of enveloped viruses (tested after a modified version of ISO 21702)
  • kills more than 99.99% of coronavirus (tested after a modified version of ISO 21702)
  • kills more than 99 % of non-enveloped viruses (tested after a modified version of ISO 21702)

Moreover two extensive field studies have been performed in two hospitals with 1300 samples over 9 months.

  • Dermatest: Skin compatibility dermatologically approved – very good
  • ISEGA: Food contact certificate of compliance for coated surfaces
  • ISEGA: Perspiration and saliva proof
  • DEKRA: no emission of volatile organic compounds
  • Innovent e.V.: Washability > 5000 cycles resistance against water and cleaning agents
